The tree with the lantern (yes, that's a lantern) hanging off of it was an experiment with some rather cool software written by a friend of mine. Everything but the lantern used to be postscript that was automagically generated by this tool from a simple collection of vectors. Good fun! The lantern I bitmapped in by hand, after; that was fun, too, in a way that makes me nostalgic for the days when I cared enough to crank out icons for my X desktop.
(I should also point out that the trees on the main pages have been somewhat mangled by overzealous use of Photoshop at this point.)
Here are some other trees. They are all straight jpeg conversions of the postscript; no other processing was done. They're a little cramped, and have lost a little in the compression. They may show up from time to time:
A canopy, and protection from the wind
Too much to bear when ripe with fruit
Reach for the sun when one can
On the smallest tree the sweet plums grow
We take our rest fom the heat of summer
The dogs take their leave of the party, and discuss
The clothing clings in the breeze
She is desperate
The wicker sings duet with the insects
Goodbye
